“I’m the Packman” capitalizes on the first wave of video arcade madness with an impressive vocoder hook, “munch” effects and a florid electro melody. “I’m the Packman! Eat everything I can!” goes the voice. It’s likely that Harlem DJ Master Don and musician/engineer Frank Heller made this B-boy anthem by themselves, though Enjoy Records owner Bobby Robinson gave himself songwriting and production credit — not an uncommon occurrence among record executives then or now.
